FACULTY SYMPOSIUM

A three-day workshop designed for educators handling arts courses and media literacy program. The program aims to refresh and update educators with the latest on the art and craft of filmmaking which eventually will be conveyed to the students.

Topics Include:

• Creating Film Synergy in the Student Body
• Basic Tools: A Crash Course on Filmmaking for Educators
   

BASIC WORKSHOPS ON FILMMAKING

Designed for aspiring and emerging filmmakers who have interest in films. A series of workshops on the different film elements from pre-production to post-production.

ADVANCED CLASS ON FILM ELEMENTS

Designed for emerging and practicing filmmakers and/or film practitioners aiming to further develop their skills in the chosen field of filmmaking.

Designed for established filmmakers aiming to master their skills in the chosen field of filmmaking.

The abovementioned proponents may partner with FDCP for preferred film education and training programs which can be a part of their regular programs and activities subject to the agreed terms and conditions.

II. REQUIREMENTS

• Formal letter of intent addressed to:

  Film Development Council of the Philippines 

• For regional and cultural organizations: - endorsement letter or certificate of recognition from the LGU. -organization’s profile

III. PROCESSING AND APPROVAL

1. Requirements must be submitted to FDCP at least three (3) months or sixty (60) days prior to the proposed schedule of film education activities. 

    

2. Once requirements are submitted, the FDCP technical committee will evaluate the request. During evaluation, the committee may approve or may require additional requirements if deemed necessary. If the request has not been met, the committee may discuss other possible support the FDCP may extend. Otherwise, the request will be disapproved. 

    

3. Upon the approval of the technical committee, both parties, FDCP and the proponent, shall discuss and agree upon their responsibilities. The assistance work flow will only start once the Memorandum of Agreement is signed by both parties.

The abovementioned proponents may partner with FDCP for preferred film education and training programs which can be a part of their regular programs and activities subject to the agreed terms and conditions.

IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF BOTH PARTIES

The FDCP shall: 

1. Organize and manage the entire work program and work flow of activities during the workshops.

    

2. Provide resource speakers/mentors for the Faculty Symposium, Basic Workshops, Advanced Class, Master and Intensive classes including their honoraria, accommodations, and travel assistance of those coming from outside the locality of the event. 

    

3. Provide assistance and work closely with the proponent during the entire conduct of the workshops which will include preparation, logistics, reports, and documentation.

Provide assistance to the resource speakers/mentors with their presentations and exercises.
For the 3-day Faculty Symposium, provide budget lunch for the educators.

The PROPONENT shall:

1. Provide local transportation for the resource persons/mentors and FDCP representative/s in the course of their stay in the province/city including airport-hotel-airport transfers.

    

2. Provide the venue for the conduct of the film education and training program.

    

3. Secure the endorsements of CHED and DepEd, and invite participants to the film education and training program.

    

4. In promotion and marketing of the film education and training program, the proponents shall recognize FDCP as partner in all collaterals, releases, write-ups, publicity materials, and on-site acknowledgements and executions.

    

5. Submit post-event documents such as list of participants, photos and videos taken by their own staff, and participation fees received (except for faculty symposium).

In partnership with FDCP, duly-registered film festivals receive full technical guidance and financial assistance in their concept and execution, to promote local and regional films produced throughout the country and establish a feasible film culture and healthy film communities and audiences across the Philippines.

Selected applicants may receive assistance for eligible festival-related expenses, including but not limited to:

• Financial Assistance: The FDCP can provide financial assistance ranging from PHP 100,000.00 up to PHP 300,000.00, in the form of reimbursement, to qualified film festivals applying for the program.
• Cinematheques: Provide four (4) operating Cinematheques as venues for the festival/event, which are located in the following regions: Manila, Iloilo, Negros, and Davao.
• JuanFlix: The FDCP Channel: JuanFlix: The FDCP Channel is a streaming platform that aims to offer quality content for local and international film enthusiasts, learners, and filmmakers by curating homegrown and world cinema that inspires, enriches, and challenges perspectives.
• FDCP Film Talks: The FDCP encourages film-related events to have an educational component, such as film workshops, film talks, and fora attached to their activities. Thus, the FDCP offers this audience-development activity through our FDCP Film Talks program
• Film Review & Classification: The Film Review and Classification Unit under FDCP, in partnership with MTRCB, will facilitate the review and classification of films under the Sineng Pambansa Program. The FDCP also issues rating and classification permits free of charge for films under its programs and events.
• Publicity Promotion: The FDCP can provide promotional support for the festival through social media postings.

Note: The final approved budget and scope will be subject to evaluation and availability of funds.
 

To qualify for the program’s support and assistance, one must satisfy the following eligibility requirements:

1. All government agencies and SEC-registered organizations or institutions organizing local film festivals in the Philippines can apply for the program.
2. The Film Festival must be registered under the FDCP National Registry for Events and Festivals (NREF). For more information, visit https://nationalregistry.fdcp.ph/
3. The proponent must have a clear record with the FDCP and must not have any existing clearance issues from other support and assistance programs. 
    

Interested applicants must submit the following:

1. Letter of Proposal: Must be addressed to the FDCP Chairman & CEO
2. Application Form (FPP Form No. 1)
3. Detailed line-item budget and funding plan: Detailed breakdown of proposed expenses for the festival.
4. FDCP Certificate of Clearance (For Return Applicants): Previous FDCP assistance availed (if applicable).
5. FDCP Certificate of National Registry for Events & Festivals (NREF): For applicants not registered in the FDCP National Registry, kindly apply at https://nationalregistry.fdcp.ph/nref/register

We can accept applications with a pending status in the National Registry. Kindly attach a copy of the email confirming that your NR application is currently being processed.
 

Applications will be evaluated based on the following:

• Relevance and alignment with program objectives;
• Feasibility and clarity of the proposed plan;
• Artistic and cultural merit;
• Audience reach and development strategy;
• Organizational capacity and track record;
• Budget appropriateness and sustainability.
   

The program accepts applications year-round; however, submissions must be made at least three (3) to six (6) months prior to the festival.

Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted.

Applicants may submit their complete requirements via:

All files must be clearly labelled as FPP Application_Agency_Festival (ex. FPP Application_CCP_Cinemalaya) and submitted in PDF format unless otherwise specified.

• The process may take 7-14 working days from the time of submission of COMPLETE requirements.
• Approved applicants shall enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) prior to fund release.
• Funds shall be released subject to compliance with documentary and reporting requirements.
• Grantees must properly acknowledge program support in all festival materials.
• Failure to comply with program guidelines may result in disqualification or termination of support.
