FDCP Opens Call for Producers for Cannes Producers Network 2022

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, MARCH 1, 2022 — Marché du Film, the business side of the Cannes Film Festival and one of the largest film markets in the world, features the Philippines as its Spotlight Country this year. The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), as an international presenting partner of the film market, has opened its call for applications for the Cannes Producers Network happening from May 19 to 23 in France.

As part of the Agency’s project and talent development goals is to provide opportunities to further expose Filipino producers to international networking platforms, FDCP will be selecting five Spotlight Producers and five Featured Producers who will be joining the Producers Network. The Spotlight Producers will participate and present their projects in the networking platform that welcomes over 500 producers from all over the world every year. 

The Breakfast Meeting program under the Producers Network, an event annually hosted by Spotlight countries to introduce their institution, will be hosted by the FDCP scheduled on May 23 to present the Agency and the five Spotlight Producers.

The call is open to Filipino producers or co-producer (official co-production) excluding executive producers, line producers, associate producers, production managers, and production assistants who qualify to the following criteria:

  • Producers whose main activity is production
  • Producers who have produced within the last four (4) years at least one (1) feature-length film commercially released in a theater or commercially distributed on global video streaming platforms. Screenings during festivals will not be accepted as commercial distribution
  • Producers with project/s in development and have plans to pursue international co-production.

  • Filmography
  • Proof of personal credits as a film producer (films released within the last four years)
  • Intention letter
  • Company profile
  • Dossier of project in current development (must include financial plan)
  • Copy of passport (valid for at least six months from May 2022)
  • HD profile photo in JPEG format.

Selected participants for Spotlight Producers will receive a Marché du Film and Producers Network accreditation, 1,500 US Dollars for Stipend (flight, accommodation, allowance subject to proper accounting and auditing), and one (1) slot in the Philippine Spotlight at Cannes Producers Network, while chosen delegates for Featured Producers will be given a Marché du Film and Producers Network accreditation which gives an access to the Philippine Spotlight at Cannes Producers Network. 

The accreditation grants the holder the following:

  • Access to Festival's screenings (upon request)
  • Access to reruns of films from the Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival
  • Access to Marché du Film screenings
  • Access to screenings at the Marché du Film Online
  • Priority access to Market and Festival screenings
  • Access to the Marché du Film Online platform
  • Free access to Cinando, a premiere online network designed for film professionals, for 1 year and inclusion of participants’ contact details in the publications of the Marché du Film
  • Access to Producers Network events including Opening and Closing Nights, Breakfast meetings, Co-Production Night, etc.
  • Attendance in themed Speed meetings
  • Privileged access to the Plage des Palmes

Since 2004, the Producers Network has become a go-to gathering venue for film producers from all over the world, offering a series of meetings and events designed to create opportunities and build networks.

The Producers Network will be held as an in-person event from May 19 to 23, simultaneous with Marché du Film and Cannes Film Festival.
