FDCP CELEBRATES PRIDE MONTH WITH PELIKULAYA 2026
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) proudly celebrates Pride Month 2026 with this year’s edition of Pelikulaya. Running from June 23 to July 3, the festival aims to uplift and honor the LGBTQIA+ community through the power of Philippine cinema.
This year’s Pelikulaya program brings together a thoughtfully curated selection of local and international films, alongside talkbacks and discussions, highlighting the depth and diversity of queer experiences across cinematheques nationwide. Through both classic and contemporary stories of identity, self-discovery, and belonging, audiences are invited to see themselves reflected on screen and find connections through shared experiences.
Pelikulaya 2026 shines a spotlight on diverse cinematic approaches that are used to express the inner self and the unique lived experiences of being a member of the community.
By presenting diverse and authentic portrayals of sexuality, gender expression, identity, and queer lived realities, the FDCP aims to foster understanding, empathy and meaningful conversations among viewers and to celebrate and champion the LGBTQIA+ community through the transformative power of cinema.
