FDCP OPENS FILMS FOR PEACE SHORT FILM COMPETITION 2026
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – In its continued effort to promote Philippine Cinema as a force for peace and nation building, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has officially opened the Films for Peace short film competition this March 2026.
From its roots as a screening initiative centered on stories of peace, Films for Peace has evolved into a nationwide short film competition open to Filipino filmmakers of all backgrounds and experience levels, with the goal of inspiring change.
Beyond the opportunity to share narratives that spark conversations on peace, unity, and compassion, participants will also compete for trophies, certificates, and cash prizes of up to PHP 250,000. .
Winning entries will be announced and showcased on the big screen this September as part of the Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) celebration.
Through Films for Peace, the FDCP aims to spotlight Filipino voices and to inspire a deeper sense of solidarity through the art of filmmaking.
Interested filmmakers may produce and submit their entries until August 20, 2026.
