CREATEPHFILMS LEVELS UP SUPPORT FOR FILIPINO FILMMAKERS IN 2026

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) officially opens the first cycle of CreatePHFilms for 2026, with applications running from February 6 to 23, 2026.

As FDCP’s flagship local funding program, CreatePHFilms continues to evolve alongside the needs of Filipino filmmakers. This cycle introduces key enhancements designed to provide more targeted support and reflect the growing diversity of film practices in the country.

Three major improvements highlight this year’s first cycle:

  • New Sub-Categories: Animation and Documentary are now included under the Project Development and Short Film grants, each with guidelines tailored to their specific creative and production requirements.
  • Increased Funding: The maximum grant for Project Development has increased from ₱300,000 to ₱500,000, now covering the development phase through pre-production.
  • Extended Grant Coverage: Production funding categories have been extended to support projects from production to post-production.

These enhancements aim to make filmmaking support more accessible, sustainable, and responsive to the realities of contemporary Filipino storytelling. By strengthening assistance at crucial stages of the filmmaking process, CreatePHFilms enables filmmakers to focus on creating meaningful, high-quality work for both local and international audiences.

Filmmakers across the country are encouraged to take part in this opportunity and bring their stories to life through CreatePHFilms.
