ANOTHER WIN FOR ACCLAIMED FILIPINO FILMMAKER LAV DIAZ!
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Lav Diaz has won the prestigious Brian Award (Premio Brian) at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival for his historical drama, ‘Makikiraan Po’ (Let Us Through, Dear Ancestors).
The award recognizes films that champion human rights, freedom, and conscience, honoring Diaz’s powerful portrayal of 17th-century Spanish colonial brutality, led by a compelling performance from Bart Guingona.
