The Film Industry Conference (FIC) started in 2017 with the goal to uplift Filipino filmmakers and make available topics and discussions for their development. In 2020, due to the pandemic, it migrated to an online setting, opening up FIC to an international audience; thus, the International Film Industry Conference (IFIC) was established.

In 2022, as the pandemic eased and the world was introduced to a “new normal.” IFIC was held in a hybrid format with onsite and online sessions.

This 2023, with the world opening its arms again to onsite activities and as the local film industry continues to flourish, the FDCP brings back the FIC alongside the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. FIC continues to provide a platform to share and discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities featuring industry experts and professionals to its audience ranging from film students to established filmmakers.
