MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), in collaboration with international creative industries consultancy Olsberg SPI, officially launched ‘The Big Picture: Roadmap for the Future of the Film Industry of the Philippines’ on November 18, 2025. This release follows the two organization’s partnership agreement signed in November last year.

The roadmap provides a comprehensive assessment of the current state of the Philippine Film Industry, both locally and globally, and lays out a strategic vision for the next five to ten years. Its foundation is a robust SWOT analysis developed through industry-wide surveys, stakeholder interviews, site visits, and extensive consultations between Olsberg SPI and FDCP.

To ensure success, the roadmap is anchored on six strategic pillars: film friendliness, infrastructure, workforce capacity, incentives and public funding, audience and exhibition, and the FDCP itself. Each pillar includes recommendation themes with actionable steps supported by timelines that take into account complexity, urgency, and legislative considerations.

The FDCP reaffirms its commitment to strengthening Philippine cinema through progressive policies, targeted programs, and sustained collaborations, working hand in hand with stakeholders to elevate Filipino stories on both local and international stages.
