MANILA, PHILIPPINES, NOVEMBER 18, 2020 — The festive tradition of the Fans Day and Grand FanCon of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) continues this year, this time through  an online platform with the PPP4 Virtual Fan Xperience on November 20 from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

In this edition of PPP4 Spotlight, we will be covering Jason Paul Laxamana’s latest film, “He Who Is Without Sin.” Originally scheduled to make its premiere at the 2020 edition of the Sinag Maynila Independent Film Festival, Laxamana’s film is now slated as one of the PPP4 Premium Selection films, making its world premiere at the 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) through the partnership between Sinag Maynila and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

In this edition of PPP4 Spotlight, we will be covering “Noontime Drama,” a short film co-directed by Kim Timan and Sam Villa-Real currently screening at the 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP). 

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 31, 2020  —  As the 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) opens today with the Short Film Showcase with free access to all subscribers to 80 short films featuring the 12 finalists of the CineMarya Women’s Short Film Festival Premiere, 63 titles from 21 regional film festivals, and five Sine Kabataan shorts together with the free Special Screening of “Anak Dalita” by National Artist for Theater and Film Lamberto V. Avellana, PPP has also released its full festival calendar for its lineup of the Main Feature Film Showcase from November 20 to December 13, 2020. 

In this year’s online edition of the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), there are 13 films in the PPP Premium Selection. The Premium films are titles that have never been released to audiences in the Philippines or only had a limited release in the country. 

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 30, 2020 — On a night centered around the celebration and excellence of Philippine Cinema at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) introduced its latest program, the ASEAN Co-production Fund (ACOF), formed to further strengthen the Philippine Film Industry through international collaborations with neighboring countries in the ASEAN region.

World renowned Filipino film director Brillante Mendoza is back in the international scene with his newest film “ALPHA, The Right to Kill” competing in the main competition at San Sebastian International Film Festival in San Sebastian, Spain.

Agencies, institutions, and stakeholders have united to support the celebration of the 100 years of Philippine Cinema - the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) announced at a press conference on September 6, 2019 at Novotel Hotel Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City. With the actual commemoration of the centennial on September 12, 2019, FDCP will be marking the momentous occasion through the Sine Sandaan: Celebrating the Luminaries of Philippine Cinema in the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.

It was in 2016 when then newly-appointed FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño of Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) attended the Nabunturan Independent Film Exhibition (NABIFILMEX) and met with the community's filmmakers which led to the planning and construction of the first Cinematheque in Compostela Valley.
