THE PHILIPPINES DISCOVERS WHAT’S NEXT AT CANNES 2026

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is set to participate in the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and Market, from May 12 to 23, spotlighting Filipino talent on one of the world’s most prestigious stages for cinema.
The Cannes Film Festival and Market bring together filmmakers from across the globe to share stories that transcend borders, serving as a premier platform for cinematic excellence and international collaboration.

This year, the Philippines mounts a strong and dynamic presence across multiple sections and industry platforms. Six (6) production companies will take part in the Philippine-Singapore Pavilion, fostering opportunities for co-production and global partnerships.

Three (3) Filipino filmmakers will participate in the Producers Network, while one (1) producer joins the Cannes Docs: Co-Pro Social Club to further strengthen industry connections and expertise.

Filipino talent is also represented across key programs, including the Docs by the Sea Showcase, Cinéma de Demain: Focus WIP, and Atmovie Global Track – Japan Pitch 2026. In addition, two (2) international co-production projects involving the Philippines will be featured at the festival — one competing for the Palme d’Or and another presented in the Out of Competition category.
