FDCP AND DILG TAKE A STEP FORWARD TO STREAMLINE THE PROCESS OF SECURING SHOOTING LOCATION PERMITS IN THE PHILIPPINES
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) have officially signed the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) Guidelines on the Issuance of Shooting Location Permits for Local and Foreign Production Companies.
The DILG-FDCP JMC sets clear guidelines for securing shooting location permits in the Philippines. Its provisions aim to streamline the documentary requirements and ease the approval process, with simple transactions intended to be processed within three (3) working days. This framework is issued pursuant to Republic Act No, 11032, also known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.
Under this JMC, all Local Government Units (LGUs) are expected to adopt the necessary ordinances to carry out and fully implement its provisions. Accordingly, the timing of its implementation shall be subject to the legislative processes of the LGUs.
This landmark policy is a step in making filming in the Philippines more efficient through standardized procedures and strengthened inter-agency support.
