Philippines Goes To Busan 2021

PHILIPPINES GOES TO BUSAN! The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) is leading the country's delegation at the ongoing 26th 부산국제영화제 Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea until October 15.

Erik Matti's "On The Job: The Missing 8" and Brillante Mendoza's "Gensan Punch" are both screening at the festival under the “A Window On Asian Cinema” section.

Mendoza's film is also among the Kim Jiseok Award nominees. The Japan-Philippines co-production received support from the Film Location Engagement Desk (FLEX) program of the FDCP FilmPhilippines Office, the one-stop-shop assistance support where applicants benefit from inter-agency government assistance.

Sigrid Andrea Bernardo’s “Happy Endings” is participating at the Asian Project Market 2021. Led by Producer Armi Rae Cacanindin, the “Happy Endings” team will have the chance to meet with international filmmakers and producers for co-production opportunities.

The FDCP is also hosting an event titled "Co-producing with the Philippines" which will be attended by the agency's Chairperson and CEO Usec. Mary Liza Diño, FDCP FilmPhilippines Office's Technical Consultant Agathe Vinson, and Unit Manager Mil Alcain. The discussion will be available at the Asian Contents and Film Markets (ACFM) online platform from October 11 to October 14 at 5 PM (KST).

All the best to the “Gensan Punch," “On The Job: The Missing 8," and "Happy Endings" teams and thank you for bringing Philippine Cinema to the international stage. #PHatBusan2021
