Philippines goes to the 73rd Berlinale

 

MEET THE PHILIPPINE DELEGATION TO BERLIN, GERMANY.

True to its mandate to promote the Filipino film industry in the international film market, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) will lead the country’s delegation to the Berlinale - Berlin International Film Festival and European Film Market - EFM happening from February 16 to 26 in Germany.

Screening in the festival under the Generation 14plus section is Stephen Lopez’s “Hito.” Filipino classic film “Maynila: Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag” by National Artist for Film Lino Brocka is set to screen in the festival’s Retrospective section

FDCP also sponsored the EFM Market badges of Filipino companies ABS-CBN, Clayshop, Fusee, Los Otros Film Productions, and UXS Inc. to represent the Philippines in the film market and explore possible partnership opportunities with their international counterparts. Epicmedia Productions, Inc. is also participating in the market’s Company Matching Program.

In the Berlinale Visitors Programme, filmmakers Raquel Medina, Sari Dalena, and Ma. Christa Grace Manikan will participate in networking events to further enrich their knowledge in the international market and explore possible funding opportunities.

The Philippines will be represented by actor Bong Cabrera, production designer Eero Francisco, and directors Demi Dangla, Martika Escobar, and Dean Marcial in the Berlinale Talents, the annual summit and networking event of the festival.

To culminate the country’s presence in Germany, the FDCP will be hosting a Philippine Cinema Night to allow the Philippine delegation to build new connections and to expand their networks with international partners and stakeholders. #PHGoesToBerlin #FDCP
