Description
Last April 21 - 23, 2026, the FDCP Film Editing Workshop was held in Palawan, where 40 students honed their skills and worked closely with award-winning film editor Ilsa Malsi.
The workshop was conducted in two parts: a lecture and a hands-on session. The lecture focused on film editing fundamentals, storytelling techniques, post-production workflow, and distribution preparation. The hands-on sessions centered on editing practice, covering scene assembly, storytelling structure, and refinement from rough cut to final cut with sound integration.
To conclude the workshop, students presented their final outputs and received feedback from their mentor, applying everything they had learned over the 3-day program.
This event was made possible in partnership with Isla Pelikula Film Festival and supported by the Puerto Princesa City Government of Palawan, the Provincial Government of Palawan, and Infinite Digital Media.
