RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and coordinate film digitization operations in collaboration with unit colleagues, ensuring seamless workflows and adherence to quality standards.
- Prepare, process, and scan 35mm and/or 16mm film materials from the Preservation Unit into high-resolution digital formats such as 2K or 4K .dpx (image), and/or .wav (audio) files using the Golden Eye 4 film scanner.
- Perform preliminary digital restoration and enhancement tasks on scanned film materials using the Phoenix Refine workstation, including stabilizing images, reducing flicker, removing scratches, and conducting 'dry cleaning.'
- Maintain accurate records of scanned materials in a film scan catalogue for archiving and retrieval purposes.
- Transfer raw and processed scans to hard disk drives for further post-production workflows or archival storage, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Collaborate with technical and preservation teams to address challenges, optimize scanning and restoration processes, and maintain equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree relevant to the job;
- Two (2) years of relevant experience;
- Eight (8) hours of relevant training;
- Career Service Professional/Second level eligibility.
