RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Oversee and coordinate film digitization operations in collaboration with unit colleagues, ensuring seamless workflows and adherence to quality standards.
  2. Prepare, process, and scan 35mm and/or 16mm film materials from the Preservation Unit into high-resolution digital formats such as 2K or 4K .dpx (image), and/or .wav (audio) files using the Golden Eye 4 film scanner.
  3. Perform preliminary digital restoration and enhancement tasks on scanned film materials using the Phoenix Refine workstation, including stabilizing images, reducing flicker, removing scratches, and conducting 'dry cleaning.'
  4. Maintain accurate records of scanned materials in a film scan catalogue for archiving and retrieval purposes.
  5. Transfer raw and processed scans to hard disk drives for further post-production workflows or archival storage, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  6. Collaborate with technical and preservation teams to address challenges, optimize scanning and restoration processes, and maintain equipment.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree relevant to the job;
  2. Two (2) years of relevant experience;
  3. Eight (8) hours of relevant training;
  4. Career Service Professional/Second level eligibility.
