Archive Assistant
Philippine Film Archive
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of the database containing records and inventory of all non-film assets of the FDCP-PFA;
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the cataloguing system for non-film assets;
- Assist in handling and in the preparation of non-film assets for preservation;
- Assist in the research and acquisition of non-film assets;
- Assist in film research and cataloguing, as needed;
- Serve as the Division’s liaison with the Administrative and Finance Division and assist in ensuring compliance with administrative requirements, including submission of daily time records, forms, notices, liquidation, memoranda, and other administrative and post-activity requirements;
- Assist in promoting the Archive’s films, programs, collections, and activities through social media, digital platforms, and other appropriate communication and promotional channels;
- Assist in developing and implementing film screenings, retrospectives, thematic programs, film talks, exhibitions, and other audiovisual heritage activities, including the preparation of proposals, briefs, schedules, film descriptions, and synopses;
- Assist in receiving, recording, and processing requests for access to films and audiovisual materials, including the preparation of related forms, correspondence, permits, agreements, and supporting documents; and
- Perform other related tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of Library and Information Science, Archives and Records Management, History, Film, Multimedia Arts, Communication, Cultural Studies, Information Technology, or any related course
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; internship or relevant experience in archiving, records management, cataloguing, inventory, research, documentation, collections management, film, or cultural heritage is preferred.
- Knowledge of film and audiovisual heritage, film research, social media, and digital content platforms is an advantage.
- Good organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must be willing to handle, organize, document, and assist in the preservation of physical and digital archival materials.
- Must be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
