Leonor Goes to Turkey: Filipino film to Compete in Turkish Film Festival

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, APRIL 12, 2022 — After its big win at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Martika Ramirez Escobar’s Leonor Will Never Die will once again compete at the 41st Istanbul International Film Festival being held in Istanbul, Turkey, which started last April 8 and will conclude on April 19, 2022.

The annual Istanbul International Film Festival, hosted by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and the Arts, is participated by over 100 countries each year, making it the largest and the most comprehensive film festival in Turkey.

Leonor Will Never Die is the only Filipino film competing under the International Competition category with nine other films participating from Germany, United States, France, Sweden, among others.

Its screening schedule will run for three days across different cinema houses in Istanbul for the Turkish audience:

  • April 16, Saturday, 13:30 at Cinewam City's 7
  • April 17, Sunday, 19:00 at Sinematek/Sinemaevi
  • April 19,Tuesday,11:00 at Beyoğlu Sineması
