MANILA, PHILIPPINES, JUNE 16, 2021 — Since the announcement of the A4 Priority Group vaccination on June 7, where film and entertainment workers including freelancers fall under, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) has been coordinating with various local government units (LGUs) to assist all workers in the sector with their inoculation registration, especially those registered under the FDCP’s National Registry (NR).

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte was among the first to reply and express support for the vaccination of NR members, revealed FDCP Chairperson and CEO Liza Diño. “‘We’ll take care of them,’ Mayor Joy Belmonte said during our conversation,” stated Diño.

In this partnership between the FDCP’s National Registry and the Quezon City (QC) Government, all film and audiovisual (AV) workers under the National Registry for Audiovisual Workers (NRAW) who are based in Quezon City will be vaccinated under the #QCProtekTODO program. Almost 1,500 of the over 5,000 NRAW registered workers are Quezon City residents.

The Quezon City Government aims to have an organized system for the vaccination of film and AV workers, and it has agreed to partner with the FDCP to help facilitate the vaccination process of all QC-based workers. The national film agency has compiled and submitted the list of all QC-based NR registrants with all their information and requirements.

“We thank Mayor Belmonte for her compassion and efficiency in assisting our workers with their vaccination. Malaking bagay ang mabakunahan ang ating mga manggagawa dahil buwis-buhay gumawa ng pelikula lalo na ngayong pandemya,” said Diño.

As for NR registrants who are not from Quezon City, they need to register with their respective LGUs and may present as proof of occupation their FDCP National Registry Certification. The FDCP has announced that all NR registrants can download their FDCP NR Certification from their MyFDCPRegistry Profile on the NR website (nationalregistry.fdcp.ph). This is useful for freelance workers without a company ID as they need to prove that they are economic frontliners under the A4 Priority Group.

Diño also noted that the FDCP is coordinating with other LGUs in hopes of forging more partnerships for the vaccination of NR registrants just like the recent collaboration of the FDCP and the QC Government.

The FDCP, which has lobbied for the vaccination of film and AV workers since 2020, aims to assist all NR registrants with their registration for inoculation. For film and AV workers who wish to register with the FDCP NR, they may visit the NR website to fill out the form and provide personal and work information.
