POLICY OFFICER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain close liaison with Congress and other agencies regarding legislation, interagency submissions, oversight, inquiries and all other matters relating to policy thrusts of FDCP;
  • Articulate FDCP’s positions on various film and audio-visual-related issues for submission to Congress, other relevant government agencies and institutions;
  • Develop and implement the FDCP’s legislative agenda in accordance with the strategic objectives and policy thrusts of FDCP;
  • Undertake policy research and monitoring of pending and proposed legislations that may affect the film and audio-visual industry;
  • Review policy issuances of other government agencies that would affect the film and audio-visual industry and propose amendments if necessary;
  • Communicate to Congress, other government agencies and institutions the FDCP’s accomplishments, issues and challenges, and priorities and plans;
  • Assist in drafting policy documents issued by FDCP;
  • Attend in interagency meetings and Congress hearings and prepare an after-meeting report thereafter;
  • Perform such other duties and functions as may be assigned by immediate supervisor and management;

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a Bachelor’s Degree holder
  • Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar function
  • Must be familiar with perusing and researching government issuances and documents
  • Must be highly organized with excellent time-management skills
  • Must have excellent analytical thinking and optimal attention to detail
  • Must be skilled in written research
  • Must be willing to do fieldwork when necessary
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Filipino
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications
