FLY is an ASEAN-Republic of Korea training program for young filmmakers, mainly from the 10 ASEAN Member States (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam). Other Asian countries such as Korea, Japan, Jordan, and Taiwan have joined the FLY2013 workshop. The FLY2015 batch will likewise include some more Asian countries, making the exercise broader in scope.

The first FLY program was held in Davao City in 2012 with John Raymund Macahilas and Elreen Bendisula as the trainees/graduates. The 2nd workshop was held in Hua Hin, Thailand in 2013 with Giancarlo Lauro C. Abrahan V and Peter B. Eduria III as trainees/graduates. The third program was held in Bagan and Yangon in Myanmar in 2014 with Alexandra Poblete and Camille Teves as trainees/graduates.

Alexandra Poblete, a B.A. Film graduate of the University of the Philippines in Diliman and Camille Teves, a Fine Arts graduate of the University of the East - Caloocan, were the Philippine graduates last FLY2014. Alex Poblete was awarded the Busan Bank Scholarship which included a prize cash. Both of them were also selected to join a smaller group of FLY graduates to go through the extended training of FLY in Sapporo, Japan.

The criteria for selection will strictly be applied. Thus, interested applicants should make sure that they are complying with the required qualifications.
